How to Add Your Business Email to Your Device
This guide shows you how to add your business email account to an iPhone, iPad, Android device, Outlook, or another email app using IMAP.
Before You Start
You will need these email settings:
- Email address / username: your full email address
- Password: the password for your email account
- Incoming mail server (IMAP): fusion.mxrouting.net
- IMAP port: 993
- IMAP security: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): fusion.mxrouting.net
- SMTP port: 465
- SMTP security: SSL/TLS
Important: always use your full email address as the username for both incoming and outgoing mail.
What IMAP Means
We recommend using IMAP because it keeps your emails synced across your devices. If you read, send, move, or delete an email on one device, the same change will appear on your other devices too.
Set Up on iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps.
- Tap Mail.
- Tap Mail Accounts.
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Add Other Account.
- Tap Mail Account.
- Enter the following:
- Name: your name or business name
- Email: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- Description: anything helpful, such as Work Email
- Name: your name or business name
- Tap Next.
- At the top, make sure IMAP is selected.
- Enter your incoming mail settings:
- Host Name: fusion.mxrouting.net
- User Name: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- Host Name: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Enter your outgoing mail settings:
- Host Name: fusion.mxrouting.net
- User Name: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- Host Name: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Tap Next.
- If your iPhone or iPad asks for more details, use:
- IMAP port: 993
- IMAP security: SSL/TLS
- SMTP port: 465
- SMTP security: SSL/TLS
- IMAP port: 993
- Tap Save.
Your email should now appear in the Apple Mail app.
If iPhone or iPad Says It Cannot Verify the Account
- Double-check that the username is your full email address.
- Make sure the incoming and outgoing server are both set to fusion.mxrouting.net.
- Check that IMAP uses port 993 with SSL/TLS.
- Check that SMTP uses port 465 with SSL/TLS.
Set Up on Android Using the Gmail App
- Open the Gmail app.
- Tap your profile picture in the top right.
- Tap Add another account.
- Tap Other.
- Enter your full email address and tap Next.
- Choose Personal (IMAP).
- Enter your password and tap Next.
- For the incoming server, enter:
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- Server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Port: 993
- Security type: SSL/TLS
- Username: your full email address
- Tap Next.
- For the outgoing server, enter:
- Require sign-in: turned on
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- SMTP server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Port: 465
- Security type: SSL/TLS
- Require sign-in: turned on
- Tap Next.
- Choose your sync settings if asked.
- Add an account name if you want, then finish setup.
Your business email should now appear in the Gmail app.
If Gmail Does Not Accept the Settings
- Make sure you chose Personal (IMAP), not POP3 or Exchange.
- Use your full email address as the username.
- Check that outgoing mail has Require sign-in enabled.
- Check that the server name is fusion.mxrouting.net for both incoming and outgoing mail.
Set Up on Android Using Samsung Email
Some Samsung phones include the Samsung Email app. If you prefer that app, use these steps:
- Open the Email app.
- Tap Add account.
- Enter your full email address and password.
- Tap Manual setup.
- Choose IMAP account.
- Enter the incoming mail settings:
- Email address / username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- IMAP server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Security type: SSL/TLS
- Port: 993
- Email address / username: your full email address
- Enter the outgoing mail settings:
- SMTP server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Security type: SSL/TLS
- Port: 465
- Require sign-in: yes
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- SMTP server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Finish the setup prompts.
Set Up in Outlook on iPhone or Android
If you use the Outlook app on iPhone or Android, you can add your business email as an IMAP account.
- Open the Outlook app.
- Open the menu, then go to Settings.
- Tap Add Account or Add Email Account.
- Enter your full email address.
- Tap Continue if shown.
- When asked to choose the account type or provider, select IMAP.
- Turn on Advanced settings if Outlook asks for them.
- Enter the following:
- Password: your email password
- Display name: your name or business name
- Description: anything helpful, such as Work Email
- IMAP incoming server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- IMAP port: 993
- IMAP security: SSL/TLS
- SMTP outgoing server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- SMTP port: 465
- SMTP security: SSL/TLS
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
- Save the account or tap the tick/check icon if shown.
Important: if Outlook tries to guess the settings automatically and gets them wrong, go back and choose IMAP with manual or advanced settings instead.
If Outlook Will Not Connect
- Check that the email address is entered in full.
- Make sure the account type is IMAP, not Exchange or Microsoft 365.
- Check that the incoming and outgoing server are both fusion.mxrouting.net.
- Use 993 with SSL/TLS for IMAP.
- Use 465 with SSL/TLS for SMTP.
Set Up in Other Email Apps Using IMAP
If you are using another app such as Outlook on desktop, Thunderbird, Windows Mail, or another mail app, look for an option called Manual Setup, Advanced Setup, or IMAP.
Use these settings:
- Account type: IMAP
- Incoming mail server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Incoming port: 993
- Incoming security: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing mail server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Outgoing port: 465
- Outgoing security: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing server requires authentication: Yes
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
Alternative SMTP Setting
If your app or network does not allow port 465, try this alternative for outgoing mail:
- SMTP port: 587
- SMTP security: STARTTLS
Example for Thunderbird
- Open Thunderbird.
- Choose New Account or Existing Email.
- Enter your name, email address, and password.
- Click Continue.
- Click Manual Configuration.
- Change the incoming server to IMAP.
- Enter:
- Incoming server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Port: 993
- SSL: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal password
- Incoming server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Enter:
- Outgoing server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Port: 465
- SSL: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal password
- Username: your full email address
- Outgoing server: fusion.mxrouting.net
- Click Re-test if shown, then Done.
Common Problems and Fixes
Wrong Username
The most common issue is using only the part before the @ symbol. Always use your full email address as the username.
Wrong Server Name
Use fusion.mxrouting.net for both incoming and outgoing mail unless support has given you different settings.
Wrong Security Type
Use:
- IMAP: SSL/TLS on port 993
- SMTP: SSL/TLS on port 465
Outgoing Mail Not Sending
Check that:
- SMTP authentication is enabled
- the username is your full email address
- the password is correct
- the SMTP server is set to fusion.mxrouting.net
